Section, Alabama

Section is a township in Jackson County, Alabama, United States and is included in the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, the population of the township is 769. Section is located on top of Sand Mountain. It is also home to the Section Dairy Bar. Section is located at 34°34 41 N 85°59 17 W / 34.57806°N 85.98806°W / 34.57806; -85.98806 (34.578155, -85.988114). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 4.6 square miles (11.9 km²), all of it land. Section sits atop Sand Mountain, overlooking the Tennessee River.
